The right tool for the right job! If that job is removing your coils from your Gen 3 motor, then this is the tool for it. This tool is inserted and locked in to the coils' mounting hole to give you a "pulling handle" to use in detaching the coil from the engine.

Be aware that even with this tool, you might still have issues removing the coil without having it separate from the boot. On higher mileage cars the coil boots will sometimes glue themselves to the inside of the metal spark plug tube on the engine. If this happens, you will have get creative in removing the pieces of broken boot from the engine. Usually a variety of picks and pliers will do the job. If you are replacing your old coils with new ones than you have mothing to worry about. Your new coils will come with new boots. But if you plan on re-using your coils than you can purchase just the new boots by themselves (part 282200)
